Berthold offers solutions for the non-contacting measurement of level, density, concentration, bulk flow and moisture.

Berthold Level Measurement

Our level measurement gauges are used to monitor measuring ranges, ranging from a few millimeters up to several dozen meters. The radiometric level measurements work non-contacting and non-intrusive. As the components are mounted on the outer wall, they do not come into contact with the measured material and are therefore not exposed to wear and tear. The level transmitters are universally applicable on all kind of vessels, reactors, autoclaves or bunkers.

Measuring Principle

Based on the radiometric principle, our level gauges are reliably operated under extreme conditions. The measurement is carried out irrespective of the material temperature, pressures or chemical properties of the measured material. Interior installations such as agitators etc. don't affect the measurement performance.


Berthold Density Measurement

Our density measuring systems work absolutely non-contacting and non-intrusive. The density measurement can be carried out on all liquids and bulk materials, including highly acidic, alkali or saline solutions and suspensions. Clamped on the outer wall of the pipeline, chute or vessel the system components do not come into contact with the measured material and are therefore not exposed to wear and tear. You will get process insight from the outside. All our densitometers provide a maintenance-free operation and can be easily installed on existing pipelines without process down time. The density systems are adaptable to all pipelines from 25 to 1000mm.

Bulk Flow Measurement

The radiometric belt scales from Berthold are used to measure flow rates and throughput on all kinds of conveying systems. The major advantage of our radiometric weighing systems is that the measurement performance is very stable over years of operation with repeatability of ±1%. Thus frequent recalibrations are not required. Due to the non-contacting nature and the lack of moving parts, encrustations, dirt, wind or changing belt tension don’t affect the bulk flow measurement.

Berthold Concentration Measurement

We measure dry substance, brix value, concentration and water content, using the latest microwave transmission technology. The measurement is carried out during the ongoing process, providing real-time information about the trends in concentration or dry substance. The systems are proven to work highly accurate and reliable – for various liquids as well as pastes and suspensions.

Measuring Principle

The microwave technology is highly representative and hardly affected by colour, viscosity or inhomogenous material composition.
